Can I upgrade a dell inspiron 1501 amd sempron cpu 1.8 ghz. with an amd turion 64x2 2.3ghz cpu?

At the moment I have a mobile amd sempron 3500 1.8 Ghz. Am hoping to upgrade to a amd turion rm-77 x2 64 2.3 Ghz. mobile cpu. Both socket s1. and I am upgrading the ram from 1gb to 2gb. Or will the new cpu get overheated.
