Getting approved for Social Security is usually a “NO” answer the first time. It works best to have a lawyer try and force the issue. I had a leg taken off and they said that I wasn’t disabled. They also said that if I had two legs off or one hand and one foot, it would have been a “no questions asked” situation. Then they said that I could be retrained or that I could use my mind and find something to work at. This kind of thing went on until I got a lawyer to talk to them. Then it went quickly.
