Anyone know of a good AUTHENTIC carne asada recipe?

I'm making this for my husband who lived in southern California for awhile. He had carne asada made by actual Mexican families and loved it. I need an authentic, traditional recipe. I know I'll never be able to make it like he had it there, but I want to make it as close as I can. There are many recipes online, all very different. A lot of those are probably americanized but I can't tell the difference. That's why I need help! Please don't copy and paste from a different website, because I can do that myself and have already looked.
